Being a Jimi Hendrix fan back in the day and having seen him play Live I looked forward to this Gig since it was announced that John was bringing his act to The Vortex. I met John in the car [ park on his arrival and was astounded at how much he looked like Hendrix. The Gig itself was fantastic with John’s attention to detail was perfect throughout and he was excellently supported by his drummer and bass player again both in full character. In the songs with the long guitar solos, I just sat down stopped photographing and enjoyed John’s note-perfect and facial expressions perfect tribute to Jimi. I have photographed and listened to many Tribute Bands in the last 4 years but I have to comment from my heart that this is the best so far and I can answer the question Are You Experienced with a Big Yes and say I was blown away by the Experience. My wife a fellow Hendrix fan also gave the show 10/10 and had her photo taken with John at the end along with others. Top Night’s entertainment at The Vortex once more.
